Stub blog

Q: i've changed the name of my blog and i want to know if is possible to redirect the old name to the new, how can i??
A: You cannot redirect a blog; but you can redirect all your followers.
Do not change the URL.
1. Create a new blog with the preferred address.
2. Export your blog to the new address (settings>basic>blog tools>export blog).
3. Convert the original blog into a stub blog:
Write a post with a message for your followers.

Delete blog

Q: I have 4 blogs on my account, and I want to delete 3 of them. How do I delete a blog?
A: Deletion does not solve any problem in Blogger. It merely puts things out of your own reach. When you deleted an URL (blog address), it is locked for 90 days. You cannot re-use that URL.

Many new bloggers assume that deleting an item will make the problem go away. It doesn't. Your deleted blog will continue to haunt you for 90 days; some times for a much longer period. If the search engines already found and indexed your blog, a cached copy will remain for months on Google servers.

It is much better to change your unwanted blogs into stub blogs, removing all personal details, photos and posts on it. This way you retain control over all your blogs. Here is my stub blog: http://davidchin88.blogspot.com
Better still, change it into a test blog and use it to try out new ideas. Here is my test blog: http://davidchin8888.blogspot.com

but if you insist...
delete blog
Sign on using your ID and password here: www.blogger.com
Go to dashboard and click on:
1. settings
2. basic
(under "blog tools" you have 3 options. One of them is "delete blog")
3. delete blog
4. delete this blog

You are now on your own...

Delete blog

Q: How do I remove my deleted blog from my dashboard?
A: Many new bloggers assume that deleting an item will make the problem go away. It doesn't. Your deleted blog will continue to haunt you for 90 days; some times for a much longer period. If the search engines already found and indexed your blog, a cached copy will remain for months on Google servers.

That was why I suggested first to you, not to delete; but to make your unwanted blogs into stub blogs. This way you maintain control of all your blogs, at all times.

Deleting a blog

Q: How do I delete my blog?
A: Please don't do it. Deleting a blog merely put it out of your reach. Then you lost control of it. Make it into a stub blog. First deleting all the posts on it and remove all other personal details. Then leave it.
