Blog address taken

Q: I want that blog address; but it was already taken.
A: Please think outside the square. Go alpha numeric (e.g. gordonmc859 dot blogspot dot com) I am certain that this blog address is available. I have over 60 blogs and never had a problem with picking a blog address. Be aware that visitors are attracted to visit your blog because you have interesting and varied contents, not because it has a fancy address. You can always change your blog address later when you think of a good one. Pick any available URL and start blogging today. 

However, the good news is this, right now you can still pick that blog name (title) you like, because blog name can be shared; blog address must be unique. Blog name (title) and blog address (URL) are not the same thing.

Change blog name (title) 
Please go to settings>>basic>>title.
Make the changes.
Save settings

Change blog address (URL)
settings>>publishing>>Blog*Spot Address
Make changes inside the box.
Save settings

Recycle URL

Q: I deleted my Google account and my blog is gone. How do I use my URL again?
A: The assumption you have made here is incorrect. After deleting a blog, the URL is locked and not available for re-use by any one, for a period of 90 days. If you do not wish to wait, you can undelete your blog and change the URL to something else. Then the URL can be used immediately again on a new blog.

The problem here is how to access your blog to undelete it, when you have already deleted your Google account. Simple. You need to back tract and undo what you have done! 

First you reinstate your Google account. This is not so simple because only a Google team member can do it for you. Mostly, they are not around on this forum. Good luck!

Then you sign on as usual with your ID and password here:www.blogger.com

A:
Blog name can be shared by many blogs; but blog address (URL) has to be unique.
Even if you manage to contact the owner and he agrees to delete his blog, the URL is still not available to you. You need to show him how to transfer ownership of the blog to you. Since he has made only one post in 5 years, he probably hasn't got a clue how to do a transfer properly, even if he remembers his ID and password. Then you probably has to show him how to get back his forgotten data for signing on to his forgotten blog. Google definitely will not help you because a blog is for ever.
